dBA Acoustics, Inc. (formerly dBA/Geerdes) is a continuum of two consulting firms dBA, inc. & Geerdes Consulting Services. The principals of the firms jointly worked on several projects prior to combining the capabilities of the two firms. Thomas Lorenzen, the principal consultant located in Ft. Wayne, Indiana has worked in the electronics and architectural industry for all of his adult life. After completing several semesters of college credit in Architectural Design, he changed his course of study to Electronic Engineering due to his interest (and part time job) in this rapidly evolving field.
After receiving degrees in engineering, Mr. Lorenzen worked for several manufacturers and contractors in related areas while pursing post-graduate studies in Architectural Acoustics. Mr. Lorenzen's unique background and experience provides a well rounded insight as to the complete scope of any project dealing with Acoustics. Communication Systems, and Noise Control. Mr. Lorenzen has the following certifications and Professional Affiliations: Acoustical Society of American (ASA), Audio Engineering Society (AES) Institute of Noise Control Engineering (INCE), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT), Music Educators National Conference (MENC), "Syn-Aud-Con", National Systems Contractors Association (NSCA), International Communications Industries Association (ICIA)Design Council.
dBA Acoustics, Inc. Consulting and Design Services has spent a great deal of time providing basic research in many related area of expertise. This research has provide Mr. Lorenzen, along with another associate, the awarding of a U.S. Patent. Following the lead of the principals, the remaining members of our staff provide a well rounded knowledge of Construction Technology and the Communication Arts and Sciences needed for professional consultation and design in our industry.
